Big Changes to FAFSA
Watch this clip from college admissions expert, Jeff Levy
Jeff explains the changes that families need to know including:
- The FAFSA is usually available October 1, but this year it won’t be ready for families until December. For students applying early decision/early action this means their applications and even the college's decision may be completed before their FAFSA goes in.
- Changes to the previous for multiple siblings in college.
- In the case of divorce or separation the “parent” will now be the parent who has contributed more financially to the child.
Jeff also covers the FAFSA vs.CSS Profile, grandparent contributions to college funds, the value of family owned businesses in the current calculations and other important changes.
